Jorge Galan

Today's feature TFA Alum is Jorge Galan! Jorge served as part of the 2013 Houston Corps and taught Spanish to 8th and 7th graders! During his time in the corps, Jorge created the first AP Spanish Language and Culture program at the school, finding resources and mentoring his students into attaining college credit before even entering high school. In addition to the work he did at his school, Jorge was the LGBTQ Affinity Group Leader for the Houston region, where he facilitated workshops focused on LGBTQ topics in education and served as a mentor for over 25 TFA Corp members during their first year of teaching. Jorge attributes his passion for rectifying educational inequity and working with Teach for America to his past.

Charlotte Hanna

Today's feature is Charlotte Hanna! Charlotte, originally from Austin, is a senior Human Development and Family Science major here at the University of Texas. On campus, she has been involved in Kappa Alpha Theta, Global Medical Training, the UT Lab School, and as an Early Learner's Intern for the Thinkery. Her experience teaching Pre-Kindergarten at the UT Lab school and as an elementary counselor at Camp Sweeney have given her valuble experience for her classroom!

Today's feature is Tai Massimilian! Tai is a senior from Dallas, Texas, currently studying Public Relations. At the University of Texas, Tai has been involved as the vice president of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a member of the Senior Fellow Honors Program in Moody College of Communication, as well as a volunteer with CareBox, a non-profit that delivers cancer supplies to cancer patients in the Austin area. Tai additionally was a Sierra Rider on the 2017 Texas 4,000 Cancer team. She will be teaching in Dallas/Fort Worth next fall!
